Young Ella walking on the beach by Cape May Lighthouse in Cape May, New Jersey. This is one of the illustrations in my children's book ... "May the Magnificent Lighthouse".
Born in the suburbs of Philadelphia, Nancy was raised in a very active, athletic, and artistic family. She spent her early years in Somerton, PA. involved in many activities including gymnastics, ballet, ice skating, skiing, surfing, windsurfing and racing small sailboats in the back bays of southern New Jersey where she spent her summers. Nancy raced in both the International Moth Class and Laser Class sailboat from her early childhood. She still enjoys sailing as well as teaching sailing to this day. Her father, a gymnastics and sailing coach, along with her mother who was both a sailor and an artist gave her an early start in the things that are now her passion. Along with her very early art training from her mother and others...

Judy, This painting is of my granddaughter. We started climbing the southern New Jersey lighthouses together last summer when she was 3 years old. Surprisingly even at her very young age ... she was hooked instantly. She wants to climb them all ... and climb them again & again. We now have many memories of enjoying a day together on the coast & learning about history together. The experiences while visiting the lighthouses ... & seeing them anew through the eyes of a young child ... inspired me to write a series of books about them. Each book is written in rhyme & not only gives a little history of each lighthouse but also teaches the importance of protecting our maritime history. It's been a very fun & exciting project so far. The first book is just about to be released. Hoping to add it to my website soon. Thanks for your kind words & interest in my book. nancy

This is really nice nice Nancy. She is caught in that wonderful period of discovery in life. More about your book? I'd like to see it, I am an art teacher.
