This painting was done from an old photograph of Hereford Inlet Lighthouse after winter storm had washed away much of the beach leaving the lighthouse in danger of being washed into the sea. It's one of the illustrations for my children's book(Hereford the Handsome Lighthouse) that tells the history of the lighthouse.
Born in the suburbs of Philadelphia, Nancy was raised in a very active, athletic, and artistic family. She spent her early years in Somerton, PA. involved in many activities including gymnastics, ballet, ice skating, skiing, surfing, windsurfing and racing small sailboats in the back bays of southern New Jersey where she spent her summers. Nancy raced in both the International Moth Class and Laser Class sailboat from her early childhood. She still enjoys sailing as well as teaching sailing to this day. Her father, a gymnastics and sailing coach, along with her mother who was both a sailor and an artist gave her an early start in the things that are now her passion.
