This is a painting of people of all ages ... including my family ... enjoying the amazing cottage style gardens at Hereford Inlet Lighthouse in Anglesea, New Jersey. It's one of the illustrations from my children's book "Hereford the Handsome Lighthouse". The book tells the history of the lighthouse as well as the beautiful gardens. Dedicated to my mom and my aunt who enjoyed this lighthouse & beautiful gardens well into their 80's.
Born in the suburbs of Philadelphia, Nancy was raised in a very active, athletic, and artistic family. She spent her early years in Somerton, PA. involved in many activities including gymnastics, ballet, ice skating, skiing, surfing, windsurfing and racing small sailboats in the back bays of southern New Jersey where she spent her summers. Nancy raced in both the International Moth Class and Laser Class sailboat from her early childhood. She still enjoys sailing as well as teaching sailing to this day. Her father, a gymnastics and sailing coach, along with her mother who was both a sailor and an artist gave her an early start in the things that are now her passion. Along with her very early art training from her mother and others...
