About Nancy Patterson

Nancy Patterson Born in the suburbs of Philadelphia, Nancy was raised in a very active, athletic, and artistic family. She spent her early years in Somerton, PA. involved in many activities including gymnastics, ballet, ice skating, skiing, surfing, windsurfing and racing small sailboats in the back bays of southern New Jersey. Her father, a gymnastics and sailing coach, along with her mother who was both a sailor and an artist gave her an early start in the things that are now her passion.

Along with her very early art training from her mother and others in her family who are also artists, Nancy studied art at Temple University. She now lives with her family in the quaint little village of Mauricetown, New Jersey. This historic town was built by Sea Captains along the scenic Maurice River off the Delaware Bay. This is the perfect setting for Nancy. She is surrounded by water and wildlife where she enjoys gardening in her extensive gardens. Her love for sailing, nature and history is clear in all her work. Along with painting and photography, she is also a Children's Book author, operates a small art gallery next to her home called Bayberry Cottage Gallery and manages East Point Lighthouse, an active lighthouse marking the mouth of the Maurice River on the Delaware Bay.
