Beach plums grow wild in the dunes along the east coast of the United States. My family has harvested Beach Plums for generations to make Beach Plum Jelly. The tart plums ripen in late summer and make a beautiful red jelly.
Born in the suburbs of Philadelphia, Nancy was raised in a very active, athletic, and artistic family. She spent her early years in Somerton, PA. involved in many activities including gymnastics, ballet, ice skating, skiing, surfing, windsurfing and racing small sailboats in the back bays of southern New Jersey where she spent her summers. Nancy raced in both the International Moth Class and Laser Class sailboat from her early childhood. She still enjoys sailing as well as teaching sailing to this day. Her father, a gymnastics and sailing coach, along with her mother who was both a sailor and an artist gave her an early start in the things that are now her passion.
